On Thursday 19th April 2018, the digital marketing superheroes from Super Digital HQ travelled to the Park Plaza Hotel in London for the Dotmailer Summit. The aim of the event was to help marketers like us develop our email marketing capabilities even further, and how to incorporate these into our clients’ email marketing campaigns. The day consisted of motivational talks from some of the country’s most inspirational business leaders, as well as great chances to network, learn, and research a range of successful case studies. After listening to speakers such as Karren Brady, Nathalie Nahai, Wayne Hemingway and Skip Fidura share their business stories and their best tips – we were left feeling extremely motivated to get our clients’ email marketing campaigns up to scratch and to become the best that they can be! As well as new tips on improving design, we gathered fresh information from the CMO and CTO’s of dotmailer, Phil Draper and Steve Shaw – who informed us on the latest updates to dotmailer which will enhance email marketing campaigns dramatically.Nathalie Nahai kicked off the summit with a fantastic talk about “The Secret Psychology Behind User Behaviours”. Here we discovered what the main psychological drivers are of decision making, and how our clients and audience must trust us. We also picked up a few tips on how to widen the audiences of our clients’ email marketing campaigns. One of the most interesting sections of Nathalie’s talk covered the importance of Processing Fluency and how this can benefit emails greatly.

For those of you who are unaware, Processing Fluency is ensuring that your content is easy for users to process. For example, this could be done by using repetition of CTA’s, and using fluent fonts (Verdana) instead of crazy fonts.[vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column width=”1/2″]We were also left enlightened by Skip Fidura, Strategy and Insight Director at dotmailer. Skip summarised Customer Engagement in a “Post GDPR World” in some of the best ways! We need to get the right message, to the right person, at the right time, in the right context, he even said, “Nathalie makes it (marketing) sound easy – and I think it is!”. He also referred to GDPR as “The pink elephant in the room” and informed us that it came from a lack of consumer trust, however it is extremely important to gain this back (if your business has lost it) as “The fine is just a headline, it’s the loss of reputation you need to worry about.” Skip also gave us some amazing statistics about types of email campaigns we can try for you and the ROI they produced – some even creating a 320% revenue INCREASE![vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column width=”1/2″]Wayne Hemingway, Co-founder of RedOrDead and he who established HemingwayDesign, also gave us an insight into his journey through business, and his top tips to succeed. After hearing some of his funny yet inspirational stories, and how he and his wife built their empire – we were left feeling pumped and excited for what the future holds at Super Digital.Karren Brady… or Baroness Karren Brady of Knightsbridge CBE to give her full title, later gave her truly inspirational and motivational talk which included some of her (often humorous) business stories, as well as her top 6 tips to success.

“Nothing can be achieved alone”

“you will find something you’re good at… you will find something you love.”

And our personal favourite…

“if you do something you love, then it certainly enriches your life”

Her simple answer? “Demand your worth” From the incredible reaction from the audience (including ourselves!) it was clear that this had really struck a chord with the dotmailer faithful.Overall, the day was a huge success, and our team of digital marketing superheroes are more prepped than ever to enhance your email marketing.
